Your journey of Geistlich myGuide® starts with a general overview on biomaterial selection, focusing on bone graft material and barrier membranes, as well as soft tissue graft materials. This will set the stage for diving into the three patients types that are covered in Geistlich myGuide®: Amari, the implant patient, Josy, the perio patient, and Lee, the peri-implantitis patient.
The content of this course is available for 18 months after enrollment.

Amari
- Amari has lost a tooth, and now needs an implant along with bone augmentation. You will be guided through the biological and clinical aspects of hard and soft tissue augmentation in implant patients. The journey starts for situations in the posterior mandible, continues to the posterior maxilla, and ends with the anterior mandible and maxilla. You will learn about the importance of keratinized tissue, simple and complex bone augmentations (incl. lateral and horizontal augmentations), sinus floor elevation procedures, as well as extraction socket management (e.g. incl. the L-Shape technique).
- These three chapters include along the 25 e-learning modules, 3 clinical full-length videos, 3 Geistlich vLab® hands-on workshop, as well as 3 assessment modules.

Josy
- Josy, our next patient on the learning journey, suffers from compromised periodontal health and needs tissue regeneration around her natural dentition. Biological and clinical aspects of the width and the thickness of keratinized tissue in the posterior and anterior regions are explained, as well as background about and the treatment of periodontitis, surgically and non-surgically. The treatment of gingival recessions as well as the treatment of infrabony defects are featured in complete detail through a clinical video.
- The chapter on Josy, our perio patient includes 10 e-learning modules, 2 clinical full-length videos, 1 Geistlich vLab® hands-on workshop and 1 assessment module.

Lee
- Lee, as final patient on our learning journey, experiences inflammation around an implant, and hence needs to treat this peri-implantitis. As a first step, the biological and clinical aspects of peri-implantitis are explained, discussing risk factors leading up to the disease, classification of defects, and finally the strategy to correctly treat peri-implantitis. Clinical case examples show peri-implant diseases in the different areas of the mouth, and the corresponding treatment options. A clinical video exemplifies these options, starting with assessing risk factors, choosing the right therapy, including the post-op instructions.
- The chapter on Lee, our peri-implantitis patient includes 4 e-learning modules, 1 clinical full-length video, 1 Geistlich vLab® hands-on workshop and 1 assessment module.
